Blog 16: The smiles that rounded off Dameriino’s 2016

on

A couple of months ago, we asked our friends across social media to help us with a campaign we were running - Soles for Souls - and we were overwhelmed by the response. We received over 200 pairs of shoes - men’s, women’s, children’s, boots, sneakers, party pumps, and slippers.

We loaded them in the boot of the car - the idea was to hand them over to those living on the streets, on red lights and under flyovers. Right from Jyoti’s new black shoes, and her mum’s new slippers, to Jaiprakash Ji’s new sneakers - we were taken aback by how excited they all got with footwear that you and I had written off for ourselves.

There’s some cheekily corny beauty in smiling just because someone else is smiling, and that’s what brought us joy in the last few days of 2016.

We wish you a dapper 2017 with a heart full of happiness and feet covered in Dameriino shoes :)
