LEATHER PATINA (7/8)

If you know leather, you know it ages like any other natural material. At its core, leather is skin, and just like your and my skin, it develops individual characteristics in the form of creases, its suppleness, and most importantly, a gradual change of colour. This change of colour is called Patina. It looks less uniform in colour, but pulled together by a sheen over the surface.

To a connoisseur, patina is a highly desirable characteristic in addition to the natural markings, grain texture, scars, shading, and fat wrinkles on the surface. A well cared for shoe made in good quality full grain leather will develop the most beautiful patina that you really wouldn’t ever give it away.
