HOW TO TELL BETWEEN DIFFERENT LEATHERS (8/8)
The range for leather starts at Full grain leather and goes all the way to faux leather. The marketplace isn’t a kind one, and it’s pretty easy to get misinformed about the material used to make your product. There’s 3 easy ways to check:

See
The surface of leather is a massive giveaway.
Too uniform with a repeating pattern – Bonded/faux leather
Hairy & soft – Suede
Buttery smooth – Nubuck
Real leather with no blemishes and marks – Top grain
Real leather with markings and blemishes – Full grain

Smell
Real leather has a specific skin-like smell, almost moist.

Touch
Spend an extra minute grazing your fingers over the leather.
Too smooth and plastic-like – It’s faux leather
Slightly grainy and uneven – Real leather

It seems like a lot of information, but try it out a couple of times, and you’ll know what we’re saying!
